PHOTO #88: Work Boredom

Nothing much happened on the 1st. But, a friend asked me to graffiti something for her during my shift. There wasn’t much I could do with it because she had a lot of specifics, but here it is. It says DR34M. Which is her “tag” apparently.

Seriously I am struggling with anything to say right now. Nothing happened. At all.

I don’t know why but I feel like the woman that is in the movie The Witches of Eastwick came to the theatre. You know the one who starts spitting up cherries at some point? Veronica Cartwright. The raspy voice and her face caught my eye when she asked about the parking. And I couldn’t place it at the time but it just came to me where I recognized her from. It very well may not have been her, but that’s who I was reminded of.

PHOTO #79: Blurry Cupcakes

Yay! More cupcakes from my sister! She hasn’t brought any in a while but the other day she came home with a bunch! I forgot about them for a couple of days. And then tonight when I got home from work I was starving, and was looking around for what was available to eat and came across the cupcakes! This one is a chocolate cupcake with strawberry icing.

Not much to say for today, oddly crazy for a thursday at work. Of course I had no help for the two jobs they expect me to do at the same time. And so at the end of the day I’m dealing with tons of shit and getting frustrated. But I’m getting better at it…if that’s a good thing…

None of my shows are on this week I guess they were taken off for the American Thanksgiving. Which is cool. I guess. I just have nothing to do at nights but to browse Facebook, and Imgur.com, and here too. Oh well, next week will come quickly I bet.

PHOTO #78: My New Shirt

This is my new favourite shirt. My friends mom gave it to me the other day as a super late birthday gift. And the second I saw it I was in love. I love lace, and cropped tops, and dusty pink, and beads, and sequins. So it’s everything I love all on one little shirt! I want to wear it everyday, and I can’t wait to try different outfits with it. I was kind of lazy with it today, so you don’t get to see the rest of the outfit.

Otherwise today was good. I was feeling completely refreshed from my day long nap yesterday. And am looking at things in a more positive perspective at work. Which is good. Because I was worried about my mood lately. It was going down a dark path that I know too well, and want to veer far far away from.

I feel like I got a lot accomplished today. Well I better have I worked for 12.75 hours…I helped out on VIP again, this time it got me 6 bucks for only a half an hour of work. Yay for free money. We got some new hires, so I got to see them at work. They seem pretty good to me. I’ll let you know though, I’ll give them a couple more days to really make an impression.

PHOTO #61: Drafting Dresses

Here is an Instagram photo my sister took of me today while I was drafting her dress. Or I should say more like adjusting a draft I already had. She found a dress I had partially made, tried it on, and said that it was virtually what she wanted. So I have made the changes she wanted, and tomorrow I will be in the construction stages. And hopefully finished the dress by the end of the day. Hopefully.

Shhh…don’t tell my drafting teachers that I’m using an HB pencil and not a 0.5mm lead pencil like they adamantly tried to drill into my brain…

I don’t even know what got into me, but when I wrote yesterdays post I swear to you it was the 4th. Because I looked at my watch and it said 11:30pm, and it said 11-4. But, as it turns out I was hallucinating. I changed the title now so that it is correct although, you can still see remnants of my mess up if you happened across the image link URL.

I finally have a day off! It’s been…six whole days since I’ve had one off. This is my excuse for not knowing what day it is. They all blend together after a while. I definitely need sleep. So that is where I shall go. Goodnight.

PHOTO #54: Lost & Found Haul

I got to do a clean up of the lost and found today. We have to dispose of anything that’s older than two months. Here are a few of the things I grabbed. The walkman is for a friend. She asked me to grab it for her if it hadn’t been claimed by the two month mark. Inside was Katy Perry’s new CD Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. I got a pair of Prada sunglasses. Whether they are real or not is another question. I also grabbed a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers, I don’t think they are real (I’ve gotten pretty good at recognizing the inconsistencies between real and fake Ray Bans). And a pair of Ray Ban Aviators, also probably fake. All in all, I think I got some pretty awesome stuff. And I am obsessed with sunglasses, so I am pretty happy.

Other than that, today was rainy and crappy, and my mood mirrored it. I wanted to just sleep all day, funny that I am now still up at three in the morning…I learned some new manager-y things at work, which was awesome. And I wore my favourite heels, navy blue and brown lace-up from H&M. I can’t walk in them, but I am really trying to teach myself to walk in heels, so I have to start somewhere right? I’m sure I look ridiculous walking in them…Though they are really comfortable, so I don’t know why I suck at walking. Ah well, I’ll keep trying anyways.

PHOTO #53: Halloween Awesome Fun Times

Today I threw an awesome Halloween Party at work. Even though I was working at the same time, I think it all came together pretty well. We had Pumpkin carving, a Pot-luck, a costume contest, and a movie. I got prizes for the winners of the pumpkin carving and costume contest. As you can see from this picture we are a bunch of slobs. We had chips , chocolate, candy, pop, cupcakes, someone made pudding, and rice cakes, some one even made chow mein.

After all the festivities I wanted to show a few movies in the theatres, but it turned out almost everyone wanted to see Shaun of the Dead, people who had voted for other films (there were about 15 other movies to choose from) agreed to go see that one. Though only a few of us actually stayed to watch the whole thing.

I have never really been the planner when it comes to parties, I tend to take the back-seat approach, so this was a new experience for me. It was hard. But I liked it. Thinking of prizes to give people, what tools we would need, finding things to serve food on. It wasn’t too hard to get supplies, we work in a place that deals with a lot of food. So it was easy to find plates, knives, forks, cups, those sorts of things. I wish I could plan more of them. It’s hard to find places to hold them, sometimes impossible.

Here’s to trying new things. Let’s hope I get more chances.

PHOTO #31: My Accessories

So, I never got to do a post for the 5th, here it is. I took the picture and knew what I was going to write, but was so tired when I got home from work, I couldn’t bring myself to turn on the computer. These days, work has been busy. The movies are picking up. We are getting the ones that will eventually be nominated for Oscars, and so they are quite popular. We also got a couple of the action, younger audience movies. All this is a good thing, more hours for me, time goes by faster, blah blah blah. I just hate all the guest concerns, and refunds and all that. At some points in my day, I have five people asking me questions all at the same time. And they all want me to answer them first, because they are all in a rush, because they are all late for their movies, which is not my fault. GASP! So, it can get a little overwhelming.

Anyways, I thought I would show you some of the jewelry I wear. Since I’m so keen on making it. These three pieces are very important to me. The ring with the topaz jewel, is a birthday present from my mom. She got it for me on my 18th birthday. I have never gone a day without wearing it. So, that’s roughly 1460 days…I only take it off to shower, or if I’m dying my hair, or working with bleach, or some sort of substance I don’t want it coming into contact with. And same goes for the other ring. I got that out of the lost and found at work. It had been there for about 7 months, maybe more. And no one came back to claim it. I thought it was a waste just sitting there, so I asked if I could have it. My managers said yes! I also have never taken that off. It’s been about 2.5 years now. Or more. The watch was also a gift from my mom, for christmas a couple of years ago. I always love retro things. And this watch is a sort of retro style, it’s not a Casio, it’s a Timex, but they look virtually the same, and it’s much cheaper.
