PHOTO #95: New Pants

I haven’t been shopping in a while, so when I was in the mall yesterday to pierce my ear I couldn’t resist doing a bit. I had planned on limiting myself to buying work pants, and shoes. But I couldn’t find anything that was right. And, I couldn’t stop myself from buying these. They are grey acid-wash jeans from H&M, $24.95. The acid-wash is not too extreme which is good, because I can wear them more freely. What I mean is if the design on the pants was more noticeable it limits what you can wear it with. And I have also wanted jeans like this for a seriously long time. Plus, I have this problem when I go shopping, where I only buy tops and no bottoms. So, this I will happily add to my pants collection.

I didn’t end up watching You’ve Got Mail yesterday. I fell asleep at 8pm. I know crazy…but I woke up at 3am and couldn’t get back to sleep. 😦 I finally did around 7:30am after watching numerous videos of The X Factor performances…So anyways, I am loading the movie now and am finally going to watch it. I saw it years ago, when I was quite young, and I don’t remember much about it at all. Which I am sort of happy about. It means I can enjoy it more that I would, if I remembered what happens in it.

Celebrity Sighting: Bruce Croxon. He’s one of the Dragons, on Drangons’ Den. Though it was a little tough to tell it was him. He seemed to be incognito. His hair was all messy and disheveled. And he looked like just a plain regular guy. Instead of a multi-millionaire, or whatever amount of money he has…either way I thought I’d share that sighting. At least I think it was him. They all sort of look the same…it really could have been one of the other ones.

PHOTO #70: My New Jacket

Today I went into work with a positive attitude. I thought “Yes, it’s Tuesday but I can handle this.” Tuesdays are cheaper at the theatre, which means in some ways they are busier than the actual opening weekend for a film. It all went down hill as I was about to swipe in for my shift. Everything went wrong, all at the same time. We were way understaffed and I was way over tired. So, beginning of shift: sucked. Mid-shift: Not so bad. Got lots done. End of shift: Shitty. Got yelled at by a woman (a college professor of mine, though she didn’t recognize me) because the box office was being slow..and other things I don’t feel like getting into.

My point being:

When I finally swiped out I was feeling not so good, and needed some Retail Therapy. It seriously helped. I haven’t been shopping or bought anything in a while. So, I figured I owed it to myself. I bought this awesome jacket at H&M of course. It was on sale for 30% off. It’s not, strictly speaking, a winter jacket, but it will get me through the next couple of weeks. Before the real cold weather kicks in. I also don’t tend to get cold very easily, so that will help the wearability longevity…does that make sense?

Either way, I am in LOVE with it, and can’t wait to wear it.

I have four minutes to post this so I will finish with: Oh my gosh I made it to 70 posts straight!!!!! I should celebrate…with more shopping 😀 .

PHOTO #59: To Trying New Things

For the past three years I haven’t really been an earring person. I wore earrings almost every day in high school. But, once I graduated I didn’t feel comfortable in them anymore. I thought they made me look weird or something. I used to make all my earrings too. I have made a couple in the past few months, but I haven’t really worn them. I bought this slide on cuff that is at the top of my ear from H&M, when I saw it in the store I had to have it. Since I vowed to use everything that I buy nowadays, I had to try and wear it at least once. That was about three days ago and I’ve worn it everyday since. I plan on getting a real piercing there, I’ve wanted one for a while, and I think now is the time to go for it. But, I figured trying out a fake one could help…I don’t know…see whether it was comfortable, or whether it even looked good. Other than that I have the two real piercings on my lobe, and I haven’t worn much in them but I want to try and start experimenting.

Otherwise today was long and boring. I wore my newly finished DIY spiky heels, they looked awesome. I probably scared some people on the TTC.

PHOTO #54: Lost & Found Haul

I got to do a clean up of the lost and found today. We have to dispose of anything that’s older than two months. Here are a few of the things I grabbed. The walkman is for a friend. She asked me to grab it for her if it hadn’t been claimed by the two month mark. Inside was Katy Perry’s new CD Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. I got a pair of Prada sunglasses. Whether they are real or not is another question. I also grabbed a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers, I don’t think they are real (I’ve gotten pretty good at recognizing the inconsistencies between real and fake Ray Bans). And a pair of Ray Ban Aviators, also probably fake. All in all, I think I got some pretty awesome stuff. And I am obsessed with sunglasses, so I am pretty happy.

Other than that, today was rainy and crappy, and my mood mirrored it. I wanted to just sleep all day, funny that I am now still up at three in the morning…I learned some new manager-y things at work, which was awesome. And I wore my favourite heels, navy blue and brown lace-up from H&M. I can’t walk in them, but I am really trying to teach myself to walk in heels, so I have to start somewhere right? I’m sure I look ridiculous walking in them…Though they are really comfortable, so I don’t know why I suck at walking. Ah well, I’ll keep trying anyways.

PHOTO #47: Halloween DIY

Here is the dress I plan on using for my Halloween costume. It’s a light jean dress I bought from H&M. Now, I do still love the dress, so I plan on making my costume so that I can take all the Halloween additives off and it won’t be harmed in the process. Pretty much, I’m just going to make a simple wedding dress by draping over some white silky and sheer fabrics and either pinning or taping it in somehow. I might add some lace, just because in the pictures I have for the dress there is quite a bit of it. I am pretty confident it will work out. I’ve planned it out to be quite simple, so I shouldn’t have any issues…we’ll see.

My next couple of pictures will hopefully be my progress on this. And then I was thinking of making another page on this blog for my DIYs, because I do want to start doing a lot more. And that might give me the little push I need. But we’ll see with that. I tried to make a DIY blog, it’s one of the many that failed.

Today I did another double, I confused my schedule up, and thought I was only opening. Either way, I made lots of money. Let’s just hope I don’t go into overtime like I did on thursday…The exhausting thing about todays shift though, was I had to go through about 800 refunds…yea. It took me most of my morning. With a bit of a break to eat food. But, I just know one of the next few days, we are getting audited, and I want to be ready for it.

PHOTO #44: Tomorrows Outfit

I bought some new clothes from H&M today, while shopping with my sister. And have decided that I am wearing both things I bought tomorrow. She said, she was going to buy this dress and be a Dalmatian for Halloween, but I love it. Though that would be an adorable costume. I haven’t tried these pieces on together, so hopefully the length of the sweater goes well with the length of the dress. And, of course my hair will clash with it. But, I think it will be okay. And if not I’ll put it in a bun or something. On second thought I might wear it the day after tomorrow, since I don’t have anywhere to be tomorrow. I might stay home and craft something.

I watched Pitch Perfect for the second time finally! It has been about a week of me trying to find someone to go with, and people bailing, which I’m used to. It was just as good the second time ’round. And I caught a couple of things I missed the first time. Which is awesome.

Another one of those habits that I really should break but don’t want to, is staying up late. Some days it’s fine. And I can wake up early in the morning no problem. But, sometimes I screw myself over. Like this morning. I stayed up until 4am last night, but had to get up around 10 to get ready for work today. I slept through my loud obnoxious alarm that it right beside my face, somehow. And woke up at 11:20. To make it to work for 12 I usually need an hour. So, I was freaking out. I managed to get up, dressed, and out of the house in 3 or 4 minutes. The bus came right away at 11:25, and I made it to work on time. Tired, and Hungry, but on time. Lucky, for once.

So, maybe I’ll try kicking the ‘late nights’ habit…Tomorrow…:D

PHOTO #28: Movies, and More Movies

Every morning that I go to work, I have this moment of panic as I enter the theatre, we are due for an audit from Head Office, very soon. I don’t work well when someone is watching my every move. I am super confident, if I know what I am doing and I get to do it alone. No problems. The second you put someone there, who is grading, or judging what I’m doing, I freeze up. I hate it. Especially not knowing when it’s coming. It’ll ruin my whole day when it finally happens.

After work today I had plans to see The Words with a fellow employee/new friend. But, there was a lot of time between the end of my shift at 6ish, and hers at 9:30. So, I went to see Looper. Which was my plan all along, I said so yesterday. Looper was good. I really enjoyed it. I found myself having to remind myself that the main character was JGL. He was really good as a young Bruce Willis. Makes me wonder if he studied Bruce Willis’s older films…He must have, right? Either way, he’s a great actor. I love him. Seriously.

When my friend and I went down to the theatre to watch The Words, we found out that The Perks Of Being a Wallflower was also playing. So, we decided to see that instead. It was a great film. I absolutely loved it. If you’re going to see one film this year, let that be it. Most artsy films tend to show the most interesting stuff in the preview, and then the actual film is a snore fest. But, this was great from beginning to end. I was laughing, and sharing the feelings of the main characters as they went through things. I’ve never read the book, but I imagine it was great. If I take anything from that film. Also, the soundtrack was amazing. Downloading it right now.

All-in-all, I had a great day.

Celebrity sighting: Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd, Twilight, RocknRolla) He came to the theatre to see Looper. Saw the showing before mine.

P.S. Jacket is H&M, everything is H&M again actually…
